It is more often than not that Science fiction is quite dystopic. It is likely that fear and drama sell more and this greatly affects the storytelling. This is such a trend that everytime one sees a more optimistic view of the future it feels weirdly refreshing.
This week Mike T. found a great campaign for Chobani yogurt which takes place in a future where green buildings and harvesting robots are part of everyday suburban life. A wonderful 2D animation series.

Also George Z found a Youtube Channel about AI and Robots and other future issues which had a very interesting video on the architectural benefits of rooftop gardens and Vertical forests.

Finally Gordon T. shared images of Copen Hill, A recycling plant in Copenhagen with ski slopes on the roof.

Maybe we should not let our fears guide our interpretation of the future.
If we are truly looking for a realistic speculation then it is quite a challenge to strike a balance between the ups and downs the future might hold.
Enjoy !
P.S. THE SOLARPUNK GENRE
Solarpunk is an art movement that envisions how the future might look if humanity succeeded in solving major contemporary challenges with an emphasis on sustainability problems such as climate change and pollution. >>Wikipedia
